ABOUT NCPA
Nansha College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) is a private, co-educational, American curriculum boarding school operated in partnership with ULink Education Group and the non-profit, Princeton-based International Schools Services (ISS). We occupy a modern, purpose-built 31-acre campus. We are an English-medium school serving Chinese national students.
OUR MISSION
Nansha College Preparatory Academy is a learning community that empowers students to achieve academic and social excellence. NCPA is an English-language immersion school that prepares students for success in higher learning.
ACCREDITATION
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) has granted NCPA full accreditation status.
SCHOOL CALENDAR
The school calendar has 180 days of instruction, starting in August and ending in June every year.
RESPONSE TO COVID-19
In 22-23, all classes are in-person. In 19-20, online school ran from February to May. After that, NCPA only had to offer online learning for two weeks in 20-21, and two weeks in 2021-2022. Due to COVID-19 NCPA students have not had access to most standardized tests since 11/2019.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
- 8 credits required yearly
- Pre-AP® English is used in G9 & G10
- A minimum of 4 AP® courses are required to graduate
- NCPA is an AP® Capstone School
- On average, NCPA students take 6 AP® courses before they graduate
English is the instructional language for all classes, except Chinese Literature. Our English immersion program with emphasis on academic English language distinguishes us from other international schools serving Chinese nationals. Our curriculum is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English and Math.
SOCIAL EXCELLENCE
- Our curriculum includes 30 elective courses offered accross all departments
- Our grade 8-10 students meet every other day in small groups with their faculty advisors. Juniors and seniors are scheduled into semester-long seminar classes with their college counselors
- NCPA offers 24 competive sports and intramurals
- Students have dedicated onsite support from their college and social emotional counselors
- Our after school program boasts over 200 activities including Model UN, Yearbook, Student Government, FBLA, National Honor Society and Tri-M Honor Society
