Spring Musical Ranked
From April 21st to 23rd, NCPAers from Drama II class performed the Spring Musical Ranked at the Black Box Theater. As the first performance of Ranked in China, we were invited by HBO, a well-known American pay television network, to participate in the filming of its new music documentary. Ranked tells the story of a dystopian world where competition reaches a new height as academic excellence defines a student’s worth. In this show, actors strived for breaking the shackle and proved that they should control their future. In total, the show consisted of 19 actors and 23 students who were responsible for sound, props, customs, marketing, technology and stage management. In order to give an excellent performance, students had four months of learning and rehearsing with their teacher Mrs. Elsen. In class, students learned about stage performance, stage production and word expression.
