Congratulations to the ACAMIS Ultimate Frisbee Championship! 

On April 13th, our Varsity Ultimate Frisbee Team went to Shenyang to participate in the ACAMIS Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. The Ultimate Frisbee Team won the first-ever ACAMIS championship trophy! We are Pulao Proud! Our players showed their tenacious fighting spirit and excellent team spirit, and finally won the championship! 

 

 

Chinese Aesthetic Theme Learning 

On Mar. 14 and Mar. 15, Grade 12 Chinese class invited VIP (Visitors Instructors Presenters) guests to NCPA campus for Cloisonne (copper padding thread weaving enamel) teaching, which is related to the aesthetic theme of Grade 12 Chinese learning. This activity attracted students and teachers deeply, exchanging the communication and collaboration between eastern culture and western culture.

 

 

 

College Counseling for Juniors 

At NCPA, all Juniors are required to take the Junior Seminar course, where they learn and research different colleges and explore career interests, under the guidance of our college counselors. Juniors also attend college visits, meeting with college representatives and learning more about different colleges. After 10 colleges visiting our school during last semester, recently we welcome another 5 colleges, which are Rhodes College, Miami University, University of Ottawa, Binghamton University, State University of New York and Bard College. We will welcome more colleges in the upcoming months. College counselors will also deliver parent info sessions about college counseling for the families. 

 

AP Psychology 

The AP Psychology course introduces students to the systematic and scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. Throughout the course, students employ psychological research methods, including ethical considerations, as they use the scientific method, evaluate claims and evidence, and effectively communicate ideas. This course prepares students for the AP exam. The learning stage of this course is now reviewing and preparing for the AP mock exam and exam. Students are taking advantage of all the supporting materials provided by Mr. Laseter, including the retrieval guide and quiz of each unit.  

 

 

Celebration of the Pi Day 

On March 14th, NCPA Math department held plenty of activities and invited teachers and students to celebrate Pi Day, such as creating Pi Poem, circle drawing, solving the circle, and learning history of Pi. Participants got a delicious slice of pizza (pie) after each accomplishment. Our students also enjoyed the fun of Math and its application in the real life.
